"Cassie, when are you going to see that you're not always right?!"

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have heard that. I'm stubborn, I won't back down without a fight, I'm never wrong, and even if I'm proven wrong, I'll find some way to show that I wasn't all wrong. It's just my thing. I don't know how to be wrong. However, recently I found a few things that I was wrong about, and I've never been happier to admit that:

I am 100% wrong.

1. God's love is conditional
2. God couldn't possible love me
3. God will never care for me, have you seen all the bad things in my life?
4. God may be forgiving, but there's no way He will forgive EVERYTHING
5. God can't understand me
6. God will give up on me, who would want to pursue this?
7. God is a healer, but He can't heal me
8. I am not beautiful in anyone's eyes
9. God's mercy will run dry by the time He gets to me
10. I couldn't possibly be a child of God

I have lived a lot of my life believing all those things. I know God is all powerful and can do anything. But why would He want to do anything for me? I mean it is me we're talking about. Thankfully for me God opened my eyes. I opened up this book recently that I hadn't read in quite some time. Too much time. You may have heard of it, it's called the Bible. 

-Romans 8:37-39 NIV:  ³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, ³⁹ neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

     Did you hear that? NOTHING! Not a thing can separate us from His love.

1. God's love is UNconditional

I was wrong.

-John 3:16 NIV: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

     Most of us have heard this, maybe even memorized it in Awana as a kid, but most recently it really sunk in. He gave His son. His one and only son. Could you even imagine that? The one person you love most in the world hung to a cross? That is love. He gave up everything because He loves me.

-Matthew 6:26 NIV: Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

     God has always cared. Through everything. He's there to take care of me no matter what. And He's always there when I need Him most, I just have to trust Him and look to Him.

-Psalm 103:12 NIV: as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

     Talk about infinite forgiveness. As far as the east is from the west. I can't even fathom that.

I was wrong.

-1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV: No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful;he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it

     God knows that we are only human. He understands that. We will be tempted, and we won't always be strong. But if we turn to Him, He is there, He is always there to provide a way for us to endure the temptations of this world.

5. God UNDERSTANDS

I was wrong.

-Luke 19:10 NIV: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost

     Even when I feel I'm completely lost and out of reach from God, I am not. Jesus came to seek us out and to save us. We are not lost.

5. God UNDERSTANDS
6. God will PERSISTENTLY pursue me

I was wrong.

-Isaiah 53:5 NIV: But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

     Jesus died for me. How in anyway can I doubt his abilities to heal? He suffered more pain than I will know in a life time. His father gave him up, so the rest of the world could spend an eternity with Him, and yet I think I have the right to doubt that? God is all powerful.
